Long-time international rider, member of the Spanish team at the European Championships in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2017, and the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, Jordi Domingo Coll now also holds a new position: technical advisor to Canada.
Some remember him with his stallion Prestige with whom he dominated the Sunshine Tour in 2009, others with Statesman which allowed him to participate in the World Championships for 6-year-olds in 2013. Now almost 45 years old, Jordi Domingo Coll still competes in Grand Prix, in particular with I am What I am C.
In his role as Technical Advisor Jordi will lead the strategic direction of Canada’s dressage high-performance program. His mandate includes guiding athlete and horse development, supporting performance planning, advising on team selection processes and fostering a cohesive, transparent, and accountable high-performance culture “I am honoured and excited to join Equestrian Canada in this role and to be part of a team with great potential,” said Jordi. “My focus is on building a pathway that supports athletes and horses, aiming for consistent progression towards international success. I look forward working together with riders, owners, coaches and support teams to create a strong, transparent high-performance environment.”
A key component of Jordi’s vision is the integration of structured Individual Performance Plans (IPPs), developed in collaboration with athletes, personal coaches, and support teams. His philosophy prioritizes both immediate performance outcomes and the long-term progression of combinations through the international levels, with an emphasis on producing consistent, championship-ready performances.
Based near Barcelona with his wife Linda Swande, also a dressage rider, Jordi Domingo Coll previously worked with Jo Willems, Klaus Balkenhol, and Jan Bemelmans. Already the trainer of Naima Moreira-Laliberte, he has also been training Canadian Mathieu Boisselier, based in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, since 2023.
