With just over 2 years to go until the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Brazil has decided to appoint a new coach to work towards this goal: the Portuguese Daniel Pinto.
Represented at the Paris Olympics in the individual competition by Joao Victor Marcari Oliva & Feel Good VO, despite securing team qualification at the Pan American Games in Lima, Brazil renewed Olympic ambitions and has chosen to give its trust in the 58-year-old rider based in Arruda dos Vinhos, 20 km from Lisbon. Experienced in 9 European Championships, 4 World Games, 2 Olympic Games, and the World Cup Final in Las Vegas, where he finished 12th in 2007 with Galopin de la Font, Daniel Pinto also presented Licor Da Toula, an 11-year-old Lusitano with whom he notably last year won the CDI in Abrantes.
Mid-March, Daniel Pinto taught his first training camp in Brazil, after which he signed a contract with Constantino Scampini, the President of the Brazilian Equestrian Federation, extending until the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Brazil is currently represented in CDI by: Murilo Augusto Machado & Jorge VO, Nuno Chaves de Almeida & Noga, Manuel Rodrigues Tavares de Almeida Neto & Hermes (previously ridden by French Charlotte Chalvignac Vesin), and Joao Victor Marcari Oliva & Feel Good VO.
