World Breeding Championships for Young Horses: changeinto the German selection

As Verden prepares to host the World Championships for 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds next week, the host nation sees a change in its 6-year-old squad lineup with the withdrawal of Johanna Wadenspanner and DSP Valentin (video)

After finishing 12th in the World Championships for 5-year-olds last year, the 36-year-old rider and the gelding (by Vitalis out of a Don Schufro mare) will not be returning to the event, as they have ultimately been replaced by Sofie Stollberger and Bonbonito. No information regarding the reason for this change has been released so far.

At 21 years of age, Sofie Stollberger will be competing in her first major international event with Bonbonito; this gelding—sired by Belissimo M out of a Herbstkönig mare—has previously competed internationally in the 5-year-old classes at the Kronenberg CDI, where he posted scores of 77.600% and 72.800%.
