Real figure of dressage in America, Steffen Peters has not appeared in international competitions since the Paris Olympics, where he scored an unusual 66.491% with his Suppenkasper. Since then, the American has been forced to step away from top-level competition due to neuropathies in his feets and hands.

Udon, Floriano, Grandeur, Lombardi, Prince, Ravel, Rosamunde, Wizard Banamex, Legolas : at 61 years old, the rider born in Germany is about to debut a new horse at this level, next week, in the 3* organized in Del Mar California ; a horse that is not entirely unknown: Blue Hors Zirrus.

Breed by Inge Bastian like Weihegold, this son of Blue Hors Zack and Donnerhall, out of the same dam as Blue Zatchmo and the same granddam as Blue Hors Don Schufro, began his competitive career in Denmark with Allan Grøn in 2016. Ninth in the 5-year-old Championship, he then moved under the saddle of Nanna Skodborg Merrald. Together, they finished 4th in the 6-year-old Championship and 5th in the 7-year-old Championship. After an 18-month break, they returned to competition for their first Inter II in 2021 with a score of 70.57%, followed a first Grand Prix in May 2022 with a score of 73.367%. After a final Grand Prix in October 2022 with a score of 75.067%, the chestnut was sold to Christina Vinios in the United States.

Since 2025, she had been competing with him in Grand Prix level at national competitions, achieving a score of up to 70% at Myakka City last May, and entered the Oldenburg in his first CDI in Wellington in January 2026, where they finished 9th with a score of 61.500%.
