New change to the Dutch squad for Verden

There has been a second twist in the Dutch selection for the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses. Following the withdrawal of Pjethro due to his sale to the United States, another horse is now being replaced: Lord Charmeur, who was set to compete under the German rider Janina Tietze representing the KWPN.

It is therefore the Spain-based rider Moisés Jover Azuar who will compete with Rendez-vous. This gelding—sired by Kjento out of an Olivi mare and bred by Chr. de Feyter Seydlit (who also bred the stallion High Five US)—is owned by stallion station owner Rom Vermunt; Vermunt’s stables will also be represented in Verden this week by Roman Empire (with Bart Veeze) and Pina Colada (with Kirsten Brouwer). Rendez-vous made his competition debut this year.

A former rider for the van Baalen stables and subsequently for Andreas Helgstrand, Moisés Jover Azuar previously competed at the European Young Rider Championships in Roosendaal in 2017, followed by the U25 division the following year.

The competition begins tomorrow morning with the 6-year-old qualifying test.
