Easy winners of the qualifying Grand Prix for the CDI 4* Grand Prix Special in Hagen, Cathrine Laudrup Dufour & MSJ Freestyle won again this morning with another big victory accompanied by a personal record.
At 17, the Fidermark's daughter certainly demonstrated that she is in top form for this World Championship year. Highly active and expressive, the bay mare displayed better piaffe/passage transitions than in the Grand Prix. While she may have appeared slightly tense on her first set of tempies flying changes, she lost the correct canter at the entrance to her right canter pirouette. Despite this fault, the Danish riders were scored 83.085%, allowing them to outscore Germany's Ingrid Klimke and her Vayron by more than 8%. The 15-year-old Westphalian presented a somewhat difficult piaffe/passage transition, a slight loss of activity in one piaffe, a canter start after the passage that could have been cleaner, a flying change after the extended canter that was almost joined, and a second canter pirouette that could have been more controlled. With a score of 74.915%, as in the Grand Prix, they were still ahead of Sweden's Maria von Essen & Invoice, at 73.979%.
