Sixteen months after its sale, Imhotep, Charlotte Dujardin's former top horse, returned to competition today with its rider and owner Diana Porsche.
Born in the Netherlands and breed by Tineke Huizing and Albert Van Dijk, the chestnut gelding began his career in Great Britain with Rob Barker, who competed him in the four-year-old classes before he joined Sadie Smith's string of horses. Both entered him on the British Young Horse Championships in 2017 and 2019. He continued his training up to Grand Prix level with Charlotte Dujardin.
2021 Small Tour British Champions, they made their Grand Prix debut in 2022 in a Myerscough College Premier League competition, where they already achieved a solid 77.83%. Team silver medalists in Herning's World Championships and 10th in the freestyle, they were European team champions and double bronze medalists in Riesenbeck 3 years ago.
Since he has been sold, the now 13-year-old gelding by Everdale stayed home due to Diana Porsche's pregnancy. In their first competition this afternoon on national show held in Stadl Paura, they achieved a 72.133%, allowing them to beat Raphael Netz & Sola Diva (69.200%) and Charlotte Lenherr & Gentleman (68.067%).
