More than a year after her last appearance in Kronenberg, Semmieke Rothenberger announced today the retirement of her Grand Prix mare Flanell.
Bought at the age of 10 yo to Dutch rider Veronique Roerink, with whom she finished 7th at the 6 yo World Championships, this mare by Apache and Blue Hors Don Schufro was already competing at the Grand Prix level. In 2018, Veronique Roerink and Flanell won the Prix Saint Georges in Cappeln's CDI 4*.
With this half-sister of Elvive, Lyndal Oatley former Grand Prix mare, Semmieke Rothenberger won U25 team and individual gold medals at the Hagen European Championships in 2021. Moving up to the senior level in 2022, they competed until the end of 2024 in CDI 3* and 4* events, up to 73%.
Farrington, Semmieke Rothenberger other Grand Prix horse with whom she finished 7th of the freestyle in Frankfurt's 5*, is also 16 years old.
