Elysias, former Grand Prix horse of Dutch rider Karen Nijvelt, died at only 17 years old.
This Jazz and Rhodium's son spent all his career with Karen Nijvelt: they even participated in the 2017 World Championships for 7-year-olds in Ermelo, where they finished 12th.
After three years away from international competition, they made their Grand Prix debut in June 2021 in Le Mans with a score of 68.652%. Winners of the freestyle in Waregem in 2022 and 6th in the Dutch Championships, they were selected that same year to represent the Netherlands at the Nations Cup in Aachen, followed by those in Falsterbo in 2023 and Compiègne in 2024.
Officially retired since last September, the KWPN unfortunately suffered a ruptured tendon last week; a serious and painful injury that forced his entourage to make the difficult decision of having to euthanize him.
