Diamond Hit passed away
Diamond Hit, who competed up to Grand Prix level with the British rider Emma Hindle, has died.
Bred by Gabriele Harder-Brune and born in 1997, Diamond Hit was by Don Schufro out of the famous mare Loretta, who also produced Sandro Hit and Royal Hit.
Diamond Hit quickly established himself among the best young horses of his generation. In 2001, he was the German and Oldenburg vice-champion for four-year-old stallions under Miriam Henschke. In 2002, he confirmed his potential by becoming the World and German vice-champion for five-year-olds with Anja Engelbart. His career subsequently advanced to the international Grand Prix level with the British rider Emma Hindle; notably, the pair qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Diamond Hit retired from competition in 2012 and began standing at stud at Gestüt Sprehe the following year.
As a sire, Diamond Hit produced around 70 approved sons; on the sporting front, his most successful offspring competing at Grand Prix level include Hawtins Delicato, Blue Hors Loxana, Della Cavalleria, Gørklintgårds Dublet, Den Haag, and MSJ Diamond Are Forever.
Diamond Hit was 29 years old.
