Cristobal passed away
German rider Annabel Frenzen had to say goodbye to Cristobal, one of the most important horses of her career.
Bred by Klaus Kudlinski, this son of Coriander began his competitive career between 2004 and 2008 with Alexandra Klein before joining Annabel Frenzen who had previously won the team gold medal at the European Pony Championships in Saumur in 2006.
With this bay horse, she became the German Young Rider vice-champion, returned to the international stage at that level of competition, and once again secured team gold and individual silver at the 2011 European Championships in Broholm. That season also marked the pair's transition to the Grand Prix level—initially in national classes, followed by full Grand Prix competition starting in 2013.
Competing at both U25 and 3* Grand Prix levels, Annabel Frenzen and Cristobal competed in Munich, Rotterdam, Hagen, Nieuw en Sint Joosland, Deauville, and Lier. They were notably selected for the 2016 Nations Cup in Compiègne before concluding their career in October 2016.
The Holsteiner passed away at the age of 27.
