Firmly in contention for a place in the British team for the World Championships in Aachen, Carl Hester presented a new horse in competition yesterday: Monet X, with whom he won an Inter B organized alongside the international events of the CDI 3* in Hickstead.
Bred by Sandra Biddlecombe, co-owner of En Vogue, ridden by Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester, Monet X is a 9-year-old gelding by Guardian S and Bretton Woods.
Co-owned by Susan Singer and Lucy & Daniel Bremner, both Grand Prix riders in the UK, the bay gelding had spent his entire career with Daniel Bremner. He began competing in May 2021, competing in Young Horse classes in the UK and notably finished 7th in the 7-Year-Old Championship in 2024.
After a 2025 season spent on Saint Georges level, Daniel Bremner entered Monet X in his first Inter II competition last October, achieving a score of 67.65% which secured the win. Ridden by Carl Hester yesterday, Monet X won his Inter B with a score of 75.045%, earning 9s in the lateral movements, passage, and pirouettes.
