Biggles, the Swedish Grand Prix horse, has died.
Bred by Ingrid Lundberg-Persson, this SWB by Briar and Krevad came into the spotlight early aged, ridden by Jan Brink. He competed at the 2003 World Championships for 5-year-olds, where he placed 7th in the Preliminary test with a score of 8.34 and finished 11th in the Final with 7.94; an edition won by Holga Finken & Furst Heinrich. Jan Brink presented him in Grand Prix in Sweden in 2008 and 2009.
The bay, clearly influenced by his sire, then joined Kristian von Krusenstierna. From 2010 to 2015, they competed in World Cup events in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Neumünster, Amsterdam, and 's-Hertogenbosch, as well as the 5* in Doha and Falsterbo, and the Nations Cup in Rotterdam. However, they were never selected for an international Championship.
From 2016 to 2018, Biggles was then the U25 schoolmaster for Lina Dolk, with some victories in Ypäjä and Aalborg.
He was 28 years old.
