It's - maybe - a true comeback: totally absent from competition since the European Championships in Hagen in 2021, ridden at that time by Adelinde Cornelissen, Governor - possibly - reappeared in this last hours with a new rider; a return co-discovered by Eurodressage and Dressprod.
Approved by the KWPN in 2014, 11th in the 4-Year-Old Championship in the Netherlands in 2015, 5th in the 5-Year-Old World Championship in 2016, Reserve World Champion for 6-Year-Olds in 2017, Reserve World Champion for 7-Year-Olds in 2018, the son of Totilas, out of Parzival's full sister, made his Grand Prix debut in 2021 at Opglabbeek with a solid 74.978%; a first season that earned him a selection for the European Championships in Hagen. After a Grand Prix and a Grand Prix Special with scores over 72%, the bay was eliminated in the freestyle test. He was finally gelded in 2022. Questioned about Governor's prolonged absence, Adelinde Cornelissen explained to Eurodressage in January 2025, "He's fine, he hasn't been injured, I'll show him again in competitions when a simple snaffle bridle is allowed." Since then, nothing.
"A" Governor, without any mentions of age, studbook or bloodlines, unregistered on the Belgium Federation database, appeared on the start list of a national competition held in Turnhout, Belgium, ridden by Kirsten Teeuwen; a rider, competing for the first time in Belgium, previously seen competing in the Grand Prix at the CDI level with Camorkus, with whom she competed at the 3* and 4* levels in 2022/2023.

Both contacted by Eurodressage and Dressprod Thursday and Friday, Kirsten Teeuwen and Adelinde Cornelissen did not respond to requests for clarification.
