Chaque saison, le CDI 5* de Doha est un des concours majeurs de l'année : guère pour la présence des spectateurs venus apprécier les reprises présentées puisque les tribunes sont systématiquement désespéramment vides, mais bien davantage en raison de la confortable dotation et de l'expérience promise « all in inclusive ». Avec 150.000€ de gains, 30.000€ pour le Grand Prix, 20.000€ pour le Spécial et 100.000€ pour la libre, le CDI 5* est, outre les étapes de la Coupe du Monde et des Nations, un des rares concours où les cavaliers de dressage peuvent envisager de gagner un peu d'argent, loin malgré tout des sommes astronomiques offertes en CSO. Malgré cela, seul un couple de l'actuel 10 mondial faisait le déplacement : Carl Hester et son Fame. On l'aurait presque oublié mais Carl Hester n'en est pas à sa première venue à Doha : il y présentait en effet Wanadoo en 2017 et Nip Tuck en 2015. Le britannique, rare en dehors des frontières du Royaume-Uni, alignait le fils de Bordeau de Fiona Bigwood sur son premier concours international non européen. Toujours un peu haut et court, le KWPN était aujourd'hui fautif dans les changements de pied aux deux temps ; une rentrée gratifiée d'un 75.848%. Sandra Sysojeva & Maxima Bella en sont déjà à leur 23 ème concours depuis qu'elles débutaient à ce niveau il y a deux ans. L'énergique Oldenbourg présentait comme toujours son travail sérieux marqué par la qualité de son piaffer/passage. Elle perdait néanmoins quelques points à la fin de sa première diagonale au trot allongé où elle prenait peur. Les polonaises sont secondes à 74.283%. Finalistes de Championnats d'Europe de Crozet dont ils terminaient 12 èmes, Nadja Aaboe Sloth & Favour Gersdorf pourraient bien se glisser à nouveau cette année dans l'équipe danoise pour les Championnats du Monde. Homogène sans être spectaculaire, le DWB de 13 ans par Foundation était aujourd'hui fautif dans les temps et noté d'un 72.565 %. Coté français, la meilleure performance revient à Morgan Barbançon & Sir Donnerhall II Old ; un concours que le fringuant étalon connaît bien pour y participer pour la 6 ème fois. Bonne pioche pour eux donc puisqu'ils sont 4 èmes à 70.130%, avec seulement quelques résistances ici et là. Enfin, Bertrand Liegard & Ginger sont 8 èmes à 67.674 % avec pour eux aussi une reprise sans faute couteuse. Résultats complets ICI

Beloura, Doha, San Giovianni in Marignano, Wellington, many CDI are taking place this week also in the "north",with a World Cup in Gothenburg, a bit less exciting than those we have been able to live since the beginning of the year; an interesting event nonetheless for the "local" favorite: Patrik Kittel. Two times second at Wierzbna Bialy Las, twice fourth at Herning, Carina Cassoe Kruth & Heiline Danciera are this time winners. After a test without major faults, although with some small tension in the piaffes and the usual gestures of the lower lip of the Frustenball's mare, they were scored with a score of 74.044%. Although he finished 6th in the 2019 Gothenburg World Cup Final, it had been eight years since the Gothenburg public had the opportunity to see Patrik Kittel participate in a leg of the FEI indoor circuit. Beloura, Doha, San Giovianni in Marignano, Wellington, les CDI se bousculent au portillon cette semaine après aussi plus au nord, l'étape Coupe du Monde de Göteborg, moins relevée et/ou enthousiasmante que celles auxquelles on pouvait assister depuis le début de l'année ; un rendez-vous malgré tout intéressant pour le favori : Patrik Kittel. Deux fois secondes à Wierzbna Bialy Las, deux fois 4 èmes à Herning, Carina Cassoe Kruth & Heiline Danciera s'imposaient cette fois. Autrices d'une reprise sans faute majeure, avec tout de même quelques tensions palpables dans les piaffers et les gesticulations habituelles de la lèvre inférieure de la fille de Furstenball, elles étaient évaluées d'un 74.044 %. S'il prenait en 2019 la 6 ème place de la Finale Coupe du Monde de Göteborg, voilà pourtant 8 ans que le public Gothembourgeois n'avait plus eu l'occasion de voir Patrik Kittel prendre part à une étape du circuit indoor de la FEI. 6 ème du classement provisoire avec 47 points acquis à Herning,Stuttgart et Amsterdam, l'obtention de 20 points demain dans la reprise libre permettra au suédois d'avoir la quasi certitude d'assurer sa qualification pour le Texas et sa 11 ème Finale ; des points qu'il pouvait probablement moins ambitionner de remporter à s'Hertogenbosch lors de la dernière étape qui s'annonce déjà avec de vraies têtes d'affiches. Parfois résistant dans le contact, le fils de Quaterback basculait légèrement la nuque dans l'appuyer au trot à droite et s'avérait aujourd'hui encore avec des postérieurs pas toujours très dynamiques et engagés. Ils étaient évalués d'un 73.565 %. A la troisième place, on retrouve pour la Suède Maria van Essen & Invoice, le Oldenbourg de 14 ans aux origines très néerlandaises, qui faisait ses débuts l'année dernière en équipe nationale lors des Championnats d'Europe de Crozet. Pas tout à fait carré dans son arrêt d'entrée comme dans celui précédant le reculer, le bai brun prenait peur dans le premier trot allongé ; pas de quoi pourtant perturber leur reprise, harmonieuse au demeurant même si parfois davantage d'activité aurait pu être appréciée. Sans aucune surprise, Isabell Werth remportait hier le Grand Prix Coupe du Monde de Wellington avec Special Blend ; l'occasion pour l'allemande d'espérer, avec quasi certitude, de s'emparer de 20 points supplémentaires pour le classement qualificatif du circuit FEI. « J'ai perdu ma rêne puis mon fer, c'était cocasse, mais bon, Special Blend a vraiment bien fait », s'enthousiasmait Isabell Werth après sa reprise : elle n'avait plus participé aux internationaux de Wellington depuis 15 ans, la dernière fois avec Satchmo. Les tribunes étaient donc combles pour son retour « C'est agréable de recevoir un accueil aussi chaleureux, avec autant de gens sympathiques. Je ne m'attendais pas à une réaction aussi positive, c'est vraiment formidable et très excitant. » Concernant son choix d'amener Special Blend, plus jeune cheval parmi les onze partants, elle indiquait : « Il est vraiment franc, il voyage bien et il est facile à vivre. Rien ne le perturbe pendant le concours. Hier soir, je l'ai travaillé un peu sous les projecteurs et il était un peu tendu, mais il s'est relâché et j'étais très contente ce matin. La détente était super et j'ai senti qu'il était beaucoup plus détendu en carrière. Il a montré de très belles choses dans le piaffer et le passage, et tout le travail au galop était bien. [...]. » La seconde place revenait à Julio Mendoza Loor & Jewel’s Goldstrike à 71.196% et la troisième à Brittany Fraser Beaulieu & Jaccardo à 70.761%. The undisputed global queen of dressage, Germany’s 12-time Olympic medalist Isabell Werth, burst onto the Florida dressage scene on opening day of Week 7 at the 2026 Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in the Zen Elite Equestrian   FEI Dressage World Cup™ Grand Prix. Her much-anticipated ride on Helgstrand Dressage’s 11-year-old Special Blend 3 was rewarded with 73.13% and the winner’s blanket despite the Sezuan x Hotline gelding losing a front shoe in the first extended trot. In a truly international class, riders from six different nations filled the top six spots, with Ecuador’s Julio Mendoza Loor coming closest to Werth at the top of the leaderboard. He rode his own and his wife Jessica Mendoza’s 15-year-old Bretton Woods gelding Jewel’s Goldstrike—whom he partnered at the Paris 2024 Olympics—to 71.196%, which would have been higher but for a costly mistake in the two-time changes. Canadian Olympian Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu scooped third on Jaccardo, Jill Irving’s 12-year-old (Desperado x Jazz), with 70.761%. “ I lost my rein and then the shoe, which was funny, but anyway, Special Blend did really, really good ,” enthused Werth, who last rode in Wellington 15 years ago on her Olympic team gold medallist horse, Satchmo. The stands filled once again for her return on Thursday. “ It’s nice to get this warm welcome, with so many friendly people. I didn’t expect such a positive response, so that’s been great to feel and really exciting .” On choosing to bring Special Blend, the youngest horse in the class of 11 starters, she added, “ He’s really honest, he travels well, and he’s uncomplicated. Nothing around the show affects him. Yesterday, I trained a bit under the floodlight in the evening, and he was a bit tense, but he settled down and I was very happy this morning. The warm-up was super, and I felt that he was so much more relaxed in the arena. He has real highlights in the piaffe/passage, and all the canter work was nice. While Vejer de la Frontera's bid to host the 2028 World Young Horse Championships was already annonced a few days ago, other organizers have expressed interest in hosting this event, and the European Younth Championships. Bids received by the FEI : World Young Horses Championships : Verden in Germany, Uggerhalne and Randbol in Denmark, Vejer in Spain and Ermelo in the Netherlands. U25 and Young riders Europeans : Uggerhalne in Denmark, Bedizzole in Italy, Le Mans in France, Wolfsberg in Austria. Juniors and Children Europeans : Uggerhalne in Denmark, Bedizzole in Italy, Le Mans in France, Wolfsberg in Austrica, Ranczo Gosciszow in Poland. For the third year in a row, Extreme Us was the most influential stallion in the KWPN last year: in 2025, he sired 281 offspring out of the 4,600 foals registered with dressage bloodlines by the Dutch studbook. Extreme US's dam line includes Swagman, ridden in Grand Prix by Kristy Oatley, as well as Glock's Total US, Great Gatsby PS (Jessica von Bredow Werndl), Zantana (Marieke van der Putten), Dante US (Diederick van Silfhout), and Camilla, with whom Denis Lynch competed up to 1.60m level.
