The third and final selection trial for the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses took place in Ermelo on Monday, June 22. Following this selection process, the committee announced the combinations that will represent the Netherlands at the World Championships, held in Verden from August 4 to 9. The selection committee—comprising Johan Hamminga, Alex van Silfhout, and Janine van Twist—evaluated the horses during the final trial. They subsequently selected a strong squad of six combinations and two reserves per age category. "We are heading to Verden with confidence," said Johan Hamminga. La troisième et dernière épreuve de sélection pour les Championnats du Monde jeunes chevaux des Pays-Bas s'est déroulée à Ermelo le lundi 22 juin. À l'issue de cette sélection, le comité a dévoilé les couples qui représenteront les Pays-Bas lors des Championnats du monde, organisés à Verden du 4 au 9 août. Le comité de sélection — composé de Johan Hamminga, Alex van Silfhout et Janine van Twist — a évalué les chevaux lors de l'épreuve finale. The Dutch Federation announced its team lineup for the World Championships in Aachen this morning: Marieke van der Putten & Zantana Dinja van Liere & Mauro Turfhorst Thamar Zweistra & Hexagons Mr Magnum Rowena Weggelaar & Don Quichot réserviste : Lynne Maas & Electra While the choice of the starting quartet ultimately proved straightforward for the national coach, selecting the reserve pair required more deliberation. Patrick van der Meer explains: "That is because the competition was extremely tight. After careful consideration, the choice fell on Lynne Maas and Electra. They will stand ready and participate in the training camp at the National Equestrian Centre in Ermelo at the end of July. After a Grand Prix Special in the mid-afternoon won by Becky Moody & Jagerbomb at 77.575%, ahead of Dinja van Liere & Mauro Turfhorst at 74.064% and Larissa Pauluis & Flambeau at 73.830%, the Rotterdam CDI 4* ended last night with the freestyle, once again dominated by Marieke van der Putten and her Zantana RS2 Old NOP; a final round which also went well for Corentin Pottier & Gotilas du Feuillard. So it was Marieke van der Putten and Zantana who logically won the freestyle at the Rotterdam 4* in front of their home crowd. A little distracted at the start where she opened up her frame, the tall Oldenburg mare nevertheless remained well connected to her rider and made no major faults. A little resistant in her canter half passes, she also displayed canter pirouettes that could have been a bit tighter. Awarded 84.580%, the Dutch number ones also achieved a new personal best. After their 73.413%, the best French score recorded this season in the Grand Prix, Corentin Pottier and Gotilas du Feuillard took second place in the freestyle. Clearly impressed before entering the arena, the 15-year-old gelding required his rider's full attention. Although Gotilas regained his focus and received proper aids from his rider, he still made a mistake in his first tempies line, seemingly slightly anticipating, before offering a second round with a joint change. The Pamfou Dressage pair nevertheless left Rotterdam with a score of 76.635%. Après un Grand Prix Spécial en milieu d'après-midi remporté par Becky Moody & Jagerbomb à 77.575%, devant Dinja van Liere & Mauro Turfhorst à 74.064% et Larissa Pauluis & Flambeau à 73.830%, le CDI 4* de Rotterdam s'achevait hier soir avec la reprise libre, à nouveau dominée par Marieke van der Putten et sa Zantana RS2 Old NOP ; un ultime tour de piste qui réussissait aussi encore à Corentin Pottier & Gotilas du Feuillard. Ce sont donc logiquement Marieke van der Putten & Zantana qui remportaient devant leur public, la libre du 4* de Rotterdam. Un peu distraite dans son arrêt d'entrée où elle s'ouvrait, la grande Oldenbourg restait néanmoins bien connectée à sa cavalière et ne commettait aucune faute majeure. Un peu résistante dans ses appuyers au galop, elle montrait par ailleurs des pirouettes au galop qu'on aurait pu apprécier un peu plus serrées. Récompensées d'un 84.580%, les numéros 1 hollandaises décrochaient au passage leur nouveau record personnel. Après leur 73.413 %, meilleur score tricolore enregistré cette saison sur le Grand Prix, Corentin Pottier & Gotilas du Feuillard prenaient eux la 2 ème place de la libre. Manifestement impressionné avant d'entrer en piste, le hongre de 15 ans nécessitait toute l'attention de son cavalier. Si Gotilas retrouvait néanmoins correctement sa concentration et les aides de son pilote, il était tout de même fautif dans sa première ligne au temps qu'il anticipait semble-t-il légèrement, avant de proposer une seconde ligne avec un changement joint. Le couple de Pamfou Dressage quittait néanmoins Rotterdam avec un 76.635%. On retrouvait ensuite Rowena Weggelaar & Don Quichot à 75.475 %, Thamar Zweistra & Hexagons Mr Magnum N.O.P.T. à 75.410 % et Wim Verwimp & Jedai de Massa à 74.650 %.
